Big Girl

I am so excited to say that Sidney Kate is officially in "big girl panties!"  We have been potty training for about a month now and I am so excited that we only wear pull ups for bed time.  I was so nervous about how to even attempt to potty train her but with a little big of patience and smarties, it was actually a really good and somewhat easy process.  I still love her excitement every time she uses the potty, and of course we either do a dance or I cheer for her.

We were loving the beautiful weather that we were having for a few days and spent as much time outside as possible.  Now that it has gotten colder again, we have been doing a lot of swinging in the garage.  Reilly set this up in the garage and she absolutely loves it! I can not believe how big my little girl is getting, she is so much fun these days and so funny.  I love you SK!

Go Pokes!

Yesterday morning before getting out and running errands the whole family, minus Reilly of course put on our orange and were ready for the big game.  Reilly just shook his head in disbelief that his two kids had orange on. I am proud to be a Cowboy fan!!

We had a pretty low key day of working around the house and playing.  I also spent a few hours making Beckett some baby food, so far he loves the sweet potatoes and bananas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

In 2011, we welcomed the cutest boy ever Beckett Kane!! He makes our family complete, we adore him to pieces.

We also had to say goodbye to my precious, funny, loving and high tech grandpa BoBo. I miss and love you dearly!

I am so excited about what 2012 has in store for my family and loved ones. This holiday season has been so much fun with Sidney Kate and Beckett and we have enjoyed every minute of family time. We rang in the New Year with a fabulous cooked dinner by Reilly and dancing around the living room with Sidney. I honestly am so blessed and could not ask for anything more.

4 Months

I can't believe how fast the time is going, you are already 4 months old!

• You have learned to grab - You love to grab toys and hold on to them now.
• You smile when I talk to you and when I lay you on the bed and kiss your belly and neck you just laugh and laugh
• You turn to look at us when you hear our voices. You especially love it when your sister talks to you.
• You are still so chubby and I love it! You weigh 17 pounds.
  
• You are wearing 3-6 months size clothes and a size 3 diaper.
• You still like to eat about every 3 to 4 hours 24/7. You get up 2-3 times a night and although I'm tired - I love that
• You like to ride in the car. You just look out the window and 95% of the time - you go to sleep.
  
• You really only cry now when you are hungry or tired.
• You are constantly reaching for either mine, daddy's or your sisters fingers to chew on them. I still think you prefer your fingers the most, you are always trying to put your whole hand in your mouth. We think you are teething but maybe you just like to chew.
• You still love your bath. You just chew your fingers and lay there like you could lay there forever. You are always so content at bath time.
• Tummy time is still not your favorite time but you are starting to enjoy it a little more each day.
• You are constantly making noises and love to try and repeat noises that we say to you. You want to talk to us so bad!
• We are so in love with you and we are all so excited, especially your sister, for the day you can sit up and play.

Today we celebrated the life of my grandpa aka Bobo. It was such a bittersweet day for myself and my family...I am so sad that he is gone but also happy knowing he is in his eternal home and celebrating as I write this.

I love you so much Bo and miss you already!

Potty Training

This past week we have officially started potty training and believe it or not, Sidney Kate has done great! She has not had an accident in 2 days and is now going to the potty on her own. This past week I have felt like a broken record asking her if she needed to go potty about every 10 minutes. She loves wearing "big girl panties" and her favorite panties are the Cinderella panties. When we first started potty training I set up a bowl of candy behind the potty and told her everytime she used the "big girl potty" then she would get some candy, I kept that up for about 4 days until she was consuming candy all day long so we have now resorted to a potty chart that she gets to put a sticker on and once she has it filled up we will be going to get a Barbie. I love her precious little booty in panties, her little booty is so precious! The next big step will be using the potty outside of the house and at Mother's Day Out. I am so proud of how good Sidney Kate has done with potty training and I hope that her not have accidents keeps up, it is so nice to possibly be done with 2 kids in diapers.

Halloween 2011

I am so looking forward to all of the holidays this year because Sidney Kate is really starting to understand and she gets so excited about all the holidays that we have been talking to her about. This year she was a precious Cinderella and Beckett was the cutest pumpkin. We ran around and visited some of our friends then we went to Zach and Shae's house and went trick or treating in their neighborhood.

Sidney was so excited to go trick or treating with her buddy Kase. To see the holidays through a 2 year old eyes is the most precious, humbling and exciting thing every. Her joy for life feels me up daily and I am so looking forward to all the memories that we are making as a family of four.

Halloween Party

Today Sidney Kate had a Halloween party at Mother's Day Out. She loved getting all dressed up in her Cinderella costume this morning.

I can not believe how big she is getting! It is so bittersweet for me. Your daddy and I are loving all the fun things you say daily and all the new facial expressions your have. You are by far a daddys girl and are "his" little princess.

Beckett is Three Months Old!

Beckett today you are 3 months old!

I seriously can not believe it, the time is going way to quickly. I honestly could not imagine our life without you. You bring so much joy to our family and your big sister is wild crazy about you.

You weigh almost 15 pounds and are full of rolls and the most kissable chubby cheeks. You are wearing a size 2 diaper and 3-6 months clothes.

You rolled over for the first time last week but have only done it one time since. You smile all the time and watch everything your sister does.

You are still not the best sleeper, you are up every 3 hours to eat 4 ounces of formula. I am trying to feed you more in the evenings so hopefully this will help you sleep longer stretches at night. I am so hoping that this helps, mama needs some longer stretches of sleep.

You like your binki but over the past week your have really gotten into sucking on your fist but you continue to try and get your thumb in your mouth. You daddy and are wandering if you are trying to be a thumb sucker.

I love watching you grow and change daily. I can hardly wait to see what you are going to look like and act like in the months to come. We love you so much!

Beckett 2 Month Stats

A few days ago I took Beckett to his 2 month appointment, I am sad that I did not get any pictures but glad that his first round of shots are over with.

He weighs 13lbs 11ounces- 81st percentile

He is 23 1/2inches tall-71st percentile

His head circumference is 16 inches-90th percentile

I still can't get over what a chunk he is, I love all his rolls and creases. He is wearing a size 2 diaper and 3 months clothing. I am sad to say that he is not the best sleeper at night. We have gone one time of a 4 hour stretch, lets all face it the boy does night like to miss a meal so we are usually up every 3 hours and he is eating 4 ounces of formula at a time. He is such a fun addition to our family and I can not wait to see more of his personality. Over the past two weeks he has started smiling all the time and is starting to coo back when talked to, his sweet little voice melts my heart.

2 months old

Beckett, today you are 2 months old!! We love you so much and could not imagine our life without you. As you can tell by the below picture, your sister is crazy about you and likes to be all over you throughout to the day, she can not wait until you are big enough to play with her.

This pregnancy was not much different than being pregnant with Sidney Kate until the last 2 months, my body was way more achy and I was always exhausted. I guess that is what happens when you spend your day chasing a very active 2 year old, being pregnant during the hottest summer on record for Oklahoma City and my labor/pushing was much longer.

We scheduled your induction for the 25th and I barely slept the night before because I was so anxious to meet you and hold you in my arms. We left for the hospital that morning and were checked in and had a room by 7:45 am. They immediately started pitocin to get my contractions regular and get my labor on its way. Dr. Shanbour came and broke my water around 1:15 pm. My epidural caused my blood pressure to dive, which resulted in crazy nausea. They finally were able to get it to rise with medications and I was finally feeling better besides my heart racing 90 to nothing. Around 4:00 we were finally able to start pushing!!

I never thought the time was going to come to push. I was beyond exhausted and hadn't had food for 24 hours. Your head was facing the wrong way so Dr. Shanbour had to spend quite some time getting your turn and thankfully you did. I pushed for 45 minutes and finally you were here!!! It was a lot more work to have you but the moment I saw your sweet face, I instantly fell head over hills in love with you. You are beyond precious!!

Dear Sidney Kate,

Today you are 2!! I can't believe how quickly these past two years have gone and what a joy you are to your daddy and I. You are a constant ball of energy and so funny, you talk our ears off daily but we love hearing your sweet voice. Your smile lights up my life. You are such a daddy's girl and I love to watch the two of you play together. I am so excited that you get to spend so much time playing with your daddy and get the chance to see what a great man he is. We are so lucky to have him, he is our families rock.

I can't wait to see what the next few months and years bring and to watch you grow and change into a young woman. I love to day dream about all the fun mommy/daughter weekends we get to have share in our future and our countless hours of shopping trips. I know our days are getting numbered that we will be a family of three so I am taking in every special moment I can with you as my only child. I know that you are going to be such a wonderful big sister to Beckett and I am so excited to see you two turn into best buddies. I want so much for you and your life and I pray daily for your future and also that God continues to make me a better mother to you.

I hope that one day you truly know how much your daddy and I love you and the absolute joy you bring to our hearts. I know you will really understand the day you become a mommy to a son or daughter and then you will really know how much you are loved. You make my cup run over with love and happiness. 31 Weeks

Cravings: I have not been as hungry this week, my stomach is getting too big.

Best Moment this week: Hearing Sidney Kate talk about her brother or touch on my belly.

First Zoo Trip

We finally took Sidney Kate to the Zoo and we all had such a fun time! I can not express how much fun I have with my little family of 3 almost 4, we continue to make special memories daily and I just praise the Lord for what he has blessed me with.

29 Weeks & Playdates

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans and pants but everything else is regular.

Gender: It's a Boy!!

Movement: He loves to move all over the place, very busy boy.

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good, just takes a little longer to get comfortable.

What I miss: I am starting to miss sleeping on my stomach.

Cravings: This week I have been craving fruit.

Symptoms: Still feeling pretty good.

Best Moment this week: We are starting to get his room together and it feels me with excitement to meet him!

A sweet friend from highschool, Beth was in town from Chicago so us girls got together for a little play date. It is always so fun to get to get together with my girl friends and all the kids and it was great to finally meet Harper Hall, she is adorable!

28 Weeks

Yesterday, I was 28 weeks and what a day we had around here. I found a snake in my kitchen and it ruined/messed up my whole day. Sidney Kate and I holed up in my room until Reilly could get home to find it and with no luck, the snake is still living in my house! I know it sounds crazy but it has put me over the edge and all I can think of is that snake curled somewhere living comfortably in my house. Gross!

Update: The snake is gone!! Thanks goodness I spotted it this afternoon and a lovely friend of ours that was able to come and get the snake out of our house. It's a fresh breathe of air around our house knowing that the snake is gone.

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good but this week I can tell my belly has really been growing, it is taking longer to get comfortable.

What I miss: Nothing really.

Cravings: Nothing in particular.

Symptoms: Still feeling pretty good.

Best Moment this week: I am just getting so anxious to meet him and know what he looks like.

27 Weeks!

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good but this week I can tell my belly has really been growing, it is taking longer to get comfortable.

What I miss: Nothing really.

Cravings: This week I have been craving salads and Jason's Deli

Symptoms: Still feeling pretty good.

Best Moment this week: I am so excited that we have his 4D ultrasound on Friday, can't wait to see his little face.

Yesterday I went and did my glucose testing and seemed to of forgotten about how gross the drink is and how hungry you get not being able to eat or drink anything before the test. Let's hope I pass. :) Sidney Kate went and played with Nanny while I was at my appointment and as always they had a great time. Lots of house projects going on this week, hopefully I will be able to show you SK's big girl room by the end of the weekend.
